Anode Repair and Recoating

Titanium is a valve metal. When used as an anode in electrolysis processes across diverse industries, the titanium substrate itself lacks electrical conductivity. Once the coating loses electrochemical activity, the exposed titanium surface forms a passive protective layer and avoids corrosion, enabling repeated reuse of the titanium substrate.

During electrolysis under constant current density, if rising cell voltage brings economic losses exceeding the cost of anode coating regeneration, repair and recoating becomes an economical solution.

The titanium anode repair process starts with complete removal of the deactivated coating, followed by recoating on the clean bare titanium substrate to guarantee the restored anode’s electrochemical stability. Common coating stripping technologies include molten salt treatment, acid boiling and sulfate electrolysis.

We provide customized titanium electrode repair and recoating services to effectively cut customers’operational costs.
