Titanium electrode and MMO anode are made of noble metal iridium salt coated on titanium substrate and sintered at high temperature. They are widely used in electroplating (copper plating, gold plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, zinc plating, etc.) and other hydrometallurgical industries. The preparation and application of titanium electrodes are quite mature and have a history of 40 years. Compared with traditional electrodes, titanium electrodes have incomparable advantages over other electrodes:
1) Technical characteristics
High working current, high efficiency, excellent antibacterial corrosion performance; long electrode service life; current density can be adjusted randomly, operating current density: within 10000A/M2;
2) High catalytic activity
The platinized electrode is a high overoxygen potential (1.563V vs. mercurous sulfate) electrode, while the MMO anode is a low oxygen evolution overpotential (1.385V vs. mercurous sulfate) electrode, which is more prone to oxygen evolution in the anode oxygen evolution zone. During electrolysis, the cell pressure is also relatively low, which saves electricity. This phenomenon is particularly effective in the post-treatment of the copper foil in the alkaline copper plated wall.
3) No pollution
The titanium electrode is a ceramic oxide of precious metal iridium. After the surface of the titanium substrate is cleaned at high temperature with oxalic acid, the oxides such as titanium oxide and titanium dioxide on the surface are completely cleaned. After cleaning with tap water and dehydration with distilled water, the coating undergoes high-temperature oxidation. It is a fairly stable oxide, hardly soluble in any acid or alkali, and the oxide coating is about 20µm. The oxide is firmly bonded and does not fall off. Therefore, the titanium anode and titanium electrode will not pollute the electroplating solution in the normal working environment, which is basically the same as the platinum-plated electrode.
4) Cost-effective
The price of iridium tantalum titanium anode and titanium electrode anode is about 60% of that of platinum-plated electrode. It has better electrochemical stability in alkaline copper electroplating electrolyte, and at the same time, it has excellent electrolytic activity and durability. From the cost analysis of the titanium anode, titanium electrode and PT electrode of Baoji Zhiming Special Metal Co., Ltd., it is obvious that the iridium tantalum titanium anode and the iridium tantalum titanium electrode are economical.
5) Since the application of copper in printed circuits requires the use of Pulse Periodic Periodic Reversal (PPR), the use of platinum-plated titanium insoluble anodes is prohibited. The platinum layer peels off. However, this phenomenon can be avoided by using dimensional iridium tantalum titanium anodes and iridium tantalum titanium electrodes.
6) Iridium-tantalum-titanium anode and iridium-tantalum-titanium electrode require less maintenance. There is no need to stop production to clean and replace the anode, thus greatly improving the production capacity and saving costs;
7) Iridium-tantalum-titanium anode and iridium-tantalum-titanium electrode have high oxygen evolution potential characteristics, so the corrosion resistance is particularly good in strong acid system;
